I was listening to a lot of late 80’s pop, because I really loved the chances they were taking I loved how bold they were. So being inspired by that I started delving into the late 80’s - and what I found was that it was apparently a time of limitless potential. And the idea that you can do what you want, be who you want, wear what you want, love what you want - bright colors, bold chances, rebellion. The idea of that was so inspiring to me…but basically in thinking about that, and thinking about how this new album is a bit of a rebirth for me because it’s so now. I’ve never really made these kinds of changes before. And having been born on December 13th, 1989…this album is called 1989. Taylor Swift (via andthatlittleblackdress)

On the track, Swift strikes back at the snark lobbed her way with every award win and rumored romance. “Haters gonna hate, hate, hate, hate, hate,” she sings, vowing to brush off tabloid takedowns. Defensive? Maybe, but her kicky delivery, especially on the pseudo-rap bridge (she has been hanging with Ed Sheeran a lot, after all), makes it sound like she’s simply having more fun than her faceless detractors. It was so much fun. I woke up every day of that shoot and couldn’t wait to get to set. We had twerking, which was so funny. Those girls were trying to teach me how, and it’s just never gonna happen. I tried really hard. They were teaching me what they do, and there’s like a science to it – they’re like digging their heels into the floor without you seeing their legs move, but their butts’ moving. It’s mind-blowing to me. They were explaining it all to me, and it’s so above my comprehension of how to understand your body. Taylor Swift tells Rolling Stone about the video shoot (x)

Taylor had this bar with all sorts of alcohol just sitting out, so when it was almost time to leave I walked up to Taylor and I was like “hey Taylor can we take a shot before we leave?!” And she was like “ooh like a Polaroid??” And I was like “no like a shot shot. I saw all of that alcohol over there…let’s take a shot!” And she like pushed my shoulder and laughed out loud and was like “hahaha no…that would be great for the rumors wouldn’t it?!”

Q: what thoughts were going through your head when you were eating pizza with taylor swift?? were you at her house?

longlive88:

Oh god so many thoughts lol. Yeah we were at her apartment in NYC. Her apartment is perfect. Literally hundreds of candles and it smelled like Christmas or something. People were just holding her cats and playing pool and playing with her Grammys and using her restrooms and eating lots of pizza and diet coke and smart water. I could not even believe it was real life. Every good thing you’ve heard about Taylor Swift is true. It was like I was hanging out with my best friend who I had known for years. She was so genuinely happy to have us there and she was so nice. I hugged her a few times. We talked about my niece and sister who are also swifties and she was like “awww tell them I love them SO much!!” And she thanked me multiple times for coming all the way from Phoenix, AZ. She was funny and loud. Just yelling out trying to figure out if anybody knew where her Polaroid camera was. She handed me a diet coke when I said I was thirsty. When we got there she hugged and chatted with every single person and told us to make ourselves at home and look around and grab some pizza and something to drink. I don’t even know…it just felt so normal. But at the same time IT WAS FREAKIN TAYLOR SWIFT’S APARTMENT AND I WAS FREAKING OUT INSIDE
